Built by operators, for operators.
We started building software together at Indiana University and quickly realized the businesses that needed the most help with technology were the ones nobody was building for: companies running complex operations on spreadsheets, email threads, and systems that do not talk to each other.
Today we work with operating businesses of every kind. What they have in common is not an industry, it is a shape: operations with genuine complexity, work that crosses systems that were never meant to talk to each other, and people spending their days moving information by hand. BPN Solutions is an AI automation and custom software development firm based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Founded in 2021 by three engineers from Indiana University, we build the technology that operations-heavy businesses rely on to eliminate manual work and scale without adding headcount.

Blake Marcotte
Blake leads all of BPN's engineering work. He builds the custom software, AI tools, and automation systems that our clients rely on daily. With a background in finance and data science from Indiana University, he brings a rare combination of business intuition and technical depth to every build. When we scope a project, Blake is the one turning it into production-ready software.

Phil Hess
Phil runs BPN's client engagements from discovery through delivery. He sits down with business owners, maps their workflows, and identifies where AI and automation can make the biggest impact. Before co-founding BPN, he worked as a technology consultant at Plante Moran advising on digital transformation. He leads every client relationship and makes sure what we build actually solves the problem.

Nick Frische
Nick is how most clients find BPN. He builds relationships with business owners across Indiana and the Midwest, understands their challenges, and figures out where we can help. With a background in informatics and data science from Indiana University, he has a talent for translating complex technical capabilities into language that non-technical teams actually understand. He also leads BPN's AI education workshops.

How we work
Forward deployed, not outsourced.
Forward deployed engineering means our engineers work inside your operation rather than from a distance. They sit with the people doing the job, learn how the work actually gets done, and write production code against it. Requirements do not get passed down a chain and arrive distorted, because the person writing the code heard the problem firsthand.
It is also how the software gets better. Every engagement teaches us something about how operations break, and that goes back into the platforms we build. The approach is now standard at the frontier AI labs for exactly this reason. We have run it since the beginning because it is the only way to build something a team will still be using a year later.
